Colonel Christofer Ibrahim, (The Giggle novelisation) of UNIT Squad 5, was a high-ranking officer in the British division of UNIT by late 2023. (The Giggle)
During the Giggle, Ibrahim led Squad 5 in extracting the Fourteenth Doctor and Donna Noble from the streets of London to the local UNIT HQ, while also making arrangements to move Wilfred Mott to a safe location to wait out the crisis. Once at the HQ, Ibrahim remained on the scene as The Doctor and Donna were briefed by Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, Shirley Anne Bingham and Melanie Bush, and was forced to act when Kate’s demonstration of the Vlinx’s Zeedex went awry, with Ibrahim having to forcibly reattach her Zeedex when she removed it during a rant induced by the Giggle. He remained part of the inner circle discussing how to resolve the crisis, though he did not contribute to the discussions, instead following Kate’s orders to prepare the galvanic beam and giving The Doctor directions to his TARDIS. After the Toymaker arrived at UNIT HQ, Ibrahim witnessed the Fourteenth Doctor’s bi-generation and the emergence of the Fifteenth Doctor, and stood by as they bested the Toymaker in a game of catch. (The Giggle)
He was present on UNIT HQ’s observation desk when The Doctor and Ruby Sunday arrived. The Doctor noticed that he had been working out. He observed the operation of the Time Window, and Kate had to stop him from entering the window when things turned hostile. He was present when Sutekh manifested. (The Legend of Ruby Sunday) He helped to defend UNIT HQ, before being killed by Sutekh. He was revived after Sutekh’s defeat, and helped Kate recover. He told Susan Triad that she made very poor cups of tea. (Empire of Death)
He was present when Ruby called UNIT about her worries, giving Kate a warm drink. He later was part of the team called in to find a Shreek and was used in Conrad Clark’s exposure of UNIT. When Conrad managed to infiltrate UNIT HQ, he put the building in lockdown and had his troops locate Conrad after hearing gunfire. He learnt that Jordan Lang had been severely injured by Conrad. He was worried about the Shreek escaping the building after Kate let it loose. (Lucky Day)
PSYCOLOGICAL PROFILE
Ibrahim was a loyal and dedicated soldier, who held himself professionally, (The Giggle) but was willing to show his humanity, giving The Doctor a reassuring pat on the back after he had beaten Sutekh. (Empire of Death) He did not think of himself as particularly intellectual. He sought to keep himself in good health, and appreciated when the Fifteenth Doctor recognised that he had been working out. (The Legend of Ruby Sunday)
Ibrahim was particularly close with Kate Lethbridge-Stewart. He helped her back on her feet when they were resurrected from the Sutekh’s Dust of Death, and the two held hands as they took in the sunlight. (Empire of Death). The two are suggested to have some sort of intimate relationship, as Kate suggested she was working alone to Ruby when she was in fact sharing a drink with Ibrahim. (Lucky Day)
On Wish World
When The Rani created Wish World, he was an insurance broker at the Unified National Insurance Team and worked with the Doctor. He was attracted to Kate in this world as well, and the Doctor gave him information on how to woo her with Chinese cuisine. He tried to stop The Doctor from saying this, but the Doctor told him that he was beautiful which Christofer then chastised him for as same gender attraction wasn’t allowed in this world. (Wish World). When The Doctor restored the link to reality, he immediately changed into his combat fatigues. He defended the tower from the Bone Beasts and commanded UNITs military forces. After the defeat of the Rani, he celebrated with the rest of them and was kissed by Kate. (The Reality War)
