Biography

Sir Jonathan Hynes was an ambassador appointed to lead the peace talks between humanity and Aquakind. (Homo Aqua)

Hynes served as Conservative MP for Spelthorne from 1983 to 1997, when he lost his seat in the general election. He then moved into foreign diplomacy, and later served as the UK ambassador to South Africa. He brokered several unilateral peace deals, including a landmark treaty key to ending a war. (Plastic Apocalypse)

Upon taking the podium to interact with Salt however, she dismissed him as an option – and pointed out Barclay Pierre-Dupont as her choice, much to the surprise of Hynes and the other delegates. (Homo Aqua)

He later returned to the role when Tide served as ambassador for Aquakind. He strongly objected to their eating domesticated dogs, which Tide maintained was equivalent to humanity eating fish. When Salt returned, however, after the Severance virus, she requested Barclay again. (The End of the War)
