Peggy Aiken was a renowned painter. The Ninth Doctor had some of her work on display in the TARDIS art gallery. In 1969, she met Dawn at her own exhibition at the Hayward Gallery in London. Andy Warhol, David Bowie and Richard Burton were in attendance. By 1986, she and Dawn had left London for a farmhouse in Northumberland, to “find peace”, away from the art scene. The pair lived together, but could not legally get married.
Around November 1986, Dawn died. Soon after the funeral, she met the Ninth Doctor and Rose Tyler, who had landed on her farm, pursued by the Solonite, which they had stirred with an asteroid. Her home was destroyed by fire when it was attacked. Her paintings were inside. In the nearby forest, Peggy was taken over as a host for the entity when Ed approached. Her body was used to infiltrate The Doctor’s TARDIS, and age up the sun in order to create the perfect environment for the Solonite. Rose helped Peggy regain control by reminding her about Dawn. However, she did not survive the entity’s defeat.
After she died, The Doctor and Rose visited Peggy’s 1969 exhibition at the Hayward Gallery. (The Ashes of Eternity)
