Anita Benn worked at the Sandringham Hotel in 2024, where Joy Almondo booked a room. After Joy was taken to the Time Hotel, the Fifteenth Doctor stayed in Joy’s room for a year and became close friends with Anita.
She and The Doctor started to dedicate a special night to be together called “Chair Night”, where they ate takeaway food, played board games, and chatted.
Anita told The Doctor that she loved when the clocks went forward, and hated it when the clocks went backwards by an hour.
A year later, The Doctor left the hotel and bade Anita farewell.
She was eventually hired by the Time Hotel after getting a good recommendation from The Doctor. (Joy to the World)
WORKING FOR THE TIME HOTEL
Anita learned “so much” while working at the Time Hotel, and was eventually promoted to manager. On her days off, she would go looking for The Doctors using her Time Hotel house key and would witness various incarnations of the Doctor on their adventures, including the Eleventh Doctor and the Third Doctor (somehow accessing an aborted timeline in the process). Upon witnessing the Fifteenth Doctor dancing with Rogue in 1813 Bath, Anita realised that The Doctor would not reciprocate her feelings for her and instead pursued a relationship with Ricardo, the head of the HR department for the Time Hotel. She would eventually become pregnant with their son.
Three months before her pregnancy was due, the Time Hotel went into spasm due to the Earth repeatedly being destroyed over and over again in 2025. She located The Doctor inside the time loop and rescued him, bringing him back to the hotel and explaining what was happening and what she had been doing since they last saw each other. Anita took The Doctor to pick up Belinda Chandra and Poppy from their home and together they all went to UNIT HQ. Anita was able to restore the memories of the UNIT personal by keeping her door to the Time Hotel open, thus keeping the room tethered to real time. She remained at the door while The Doctor put an end to the Rani’s plans and when the incursion concluded she returned to her duties at the hotel, but not before cryptically informing The Doctor that The Boss says hello.
