Marat was a member of the secondary Thal taskforce sent to Spiridon to warn Miro’s initial team about the true size of the Dalek army there.
After being weakened by a trip through an ice volcano, Marat tried to cover the Third Doctor, Taron, Codal and Rebec while they escaped. However, he was soon exterminated by the oncoming Daleks (Planet of the Daleks)
