Cassio Palin-Paleen was Trooper 1 of the military unit that was sent to Midnight to find out why the miners on the planet had disappeared. He was suspicious of the Fifteenth Doctor and Belinda Chandra. He went with Shaya Costallion and the Doctor to the main control room to see if the computer system had recorded anything. He became more suspicious and did not like how Shaya was handling the situation so relieved her of command. He ordered people to surround Aliss Fenly but got more people killed. He died when Shaya got Aliss to turn around, putting him in direct contact with the Midnight Entity. (The Well)
