What Lies in Store for the Eighth Doctor

In two exciting adventures, The Doctor (Paul McGann), Liv Chenka (Nicola Walker), and Helen Sinclair (Hattie Morahan) are travelling once again in the universe of space and time.

They find some old enemies causing havoc on a temporal research station, before a trip to the Isle of Man in the 1930s, where they encounter a famous enigma…

Doctor Who – The Eighth Doctor Adventures: What Lies Inside? is now available to own as a collector’s edition CD box set (+download for just £19.99) or as a digital download only (for just £16.99).

The two contrasting but equally brilliant stories in this box set are:

Paradox of the Daleks by John Dorney (2 parts)

When the TARDIS is drawn to a space station running temporal experiments, the crew discover Daleks In control in the aftermath of an invasion. But these are no ordinary Daleks…

The Dalby Spook by Lauren Mooney and Stewart Pringle (1 part)

But Liv and Helen are more concerned for the girl at the centre of events. What is really going on at the remote Isle of Man farmhouse? And who is Gef, the talking mongoose?

Paul McGann said: “It’s the real deal working with The Daleks. It’s always a privilege and a pleasure to work with the sworn enemy – it’s like playing in a final. I love it.”

Nicola Walker added: “The Daleks were the creatures of my nightmares as a child growing up. I think we still love them because they represent another life form that’s seemingly a machine but is actually more complicated, it feeds into a lot of primal fears that we have.

“The Dalby Spook has great ingredients to it. I’m in love with Gef the talking mongoose – he’s just delightful!”

Hattie Morahan said: “This is such a departure from the last few box sets we’ve done. It’s spaceships, Daleks, time travel and all of the things you might expect from a Doctor Who adventure. It’s mind-bogglingly clever.

“The Dalby Spook is very fresh and unexpected. The writing is beautifully colourful and incredibly vivid. Helen has an interesting journey and finds herself very emotionally involved.”

Both 2022 box sets of the Eighth Doctor Adventures can be purchased together in a bundle for just £38 (collector’s edition CD box set + download) or £33 (download only).

All the above prices include the special pre-order discount and are subject to change after general release.

Please note that Big Finish is currently operating a digital-first release schedule. The mailout of collector’s edition CDs will be delayed, but all purchases of this release unlock a digital copy that can be immediately downloaded or played on the Big Finish app from the release date.
