Peter Davison said: “I was very much in the beginning of my career when I did Doctor Who. I’d watched the series from when it started and it was very exciting to suddenly be there as The Doctor. We had a nice time making it. It was a little family and I was very fond of [the cast]— we’ve all stayed in touch.

“I was determined to be a breath of pleasant fresh air. I felt that being the first younger Doctor and slightly more heroic in the traditional sense legitimised me and improved the legacy. I like to think that Big Finish is very much a part of my legacy.”

Janet Fielding added: “A gift of Doctor Who has been the friendships. It’s enormously important and a wonderful bonus. It really does feel like a family — it’s lovely.”

Mark Strickson said: “Looking back it’s been an incredible 40 years and a totally unexpected gift that’s kept our friendships alive over a lifetime. Of course, we’ve also worked on new Doctor Who stories featuring ourold characters with great scripts, good company and lots of fun. All I can hope is that we’ve given the fans as much fun as we’ve had.”
