Otto Zufall was the seventh son of a seventh son, a resident of Bavaria in the 19th century. With his wife Violett, he had seven sons himself. His youngest son, born in 1865, was Desiderium, the Pantheon’s god of wishes who had incarnated into a human family. Upon Desiderium’s birth, The Rani came to the Zufall home posing as a midwife and seized him. When the Zufalls objected, she used Desiderium’s power to turn Violett into violets. Otto told his older sons to run, but The Rani turned them into ducks, before turning Otto into an owl due to the bird’s association with wisdom, a quality she suggested Otto possessed as a seventh son.
