The Villengard Automated Ambulance Unit was a kind of automated ambulance created by the Villengard Corporation.
They were one of many Villengard-made tools used by the Anglican Marines on Kastarion 3. The algorithm that controlled them was designed to sustain acceptable casualty levels in combat as budgeted. As such, they only treated patients as the algorithm allowed, euthanising patients deemed too costly to treat, such as John Francis Vater, and refusing to treat patients that did not fall under their jurisdiction, such as Ruby Sunday. They were also able to kill in self-defence, such as when one killed Canterbury James Olliphant as he was attempting to override its protocols to treat Ruby.
When the Fifteenth Doctor sent an AI reconstruction of Vater into the network, he used the ambulance that had connected itself to him to do it. When the AI began acting like a computer virus, attacking the algorithm, multiple ambulances converged on The Doctor to defend it. Ultimately, the AI overpowered the algorithm, and used an ambulance to revivify Ruby Sunday. (Boom)
The Doctor later recognised Penny Pepper-Bean as having the same face and voice as the ambulance units after her daughter Lindy showed him and Ruby a video message from her. (Dot and Bubble)
The 21st century tech billionaire Susan Triad recalled the ambulance in a dream. Upon locating Triad and learning that she had strange dreams, The Doctor questioned her about them, asking her if she dreamed about being an ambulance, a question which shook Triad. Melanie Bush, who had been spying on Triad for UNIT, was confounded by The Doctor’s line of questioning. (The Legend of Ruby Sunday)
