8.3 The Council of Susan by Tim Foley
Looking for a way through a dangerous Barrier, The Doctor and his friends stumble upon an unusual organisation. The Council of Susan is stationed by a wormhole – and they know all about the mysterious time traveller known as ‘Grandfather’. Are The Doctor and Alex due for a family reunion? Or will a darker presence try its best to sever all family ties?
8.4 All Over by Patrick O’Connor
Out on the ice lies an empty blue box. Luckily, there’s someone out here who can drag it to safety – that’s what Friends are for, after all. In a rundown house at the edge of the Uncharted, someone will face her destiny. It’s time for myths to be exposed and everything to end.

When The Doctor crash-lands in a weird woodland, surrounded by friends and enemies, he will discover he has travelled further than his people could possibly imagine.

Paul McGann is joined by Sonny McGann, Emma Campbell-Jones, Carole Ann Ford and Daphne Ashbrook in Doctor Who – Time War Uncharted: Branches, available now.
Friend and family for the Eighth Doctor
The Eighth Doctor’s Time War-era audio adventures continue today, and he’s joined by many recognisable faces – though not all quite as he knows them – in the full-cast audio drama box set Time War Uncharted: Branches.
The Doctor and his great-grandson Alex (Sonny McGann) are searching for their missing companion Cass (Emma Campbell-Jones). But in this strange new universe, they instead find the pirate queen Cassie, an alternative version of Cass with a ruthless streak.
There’s also an encounter in store with Susan (Carole Ann Ford), who has a message for her grandfather – but this is not her universe, and not her Alex, which makes for an unconventional family reunion.
And the duplicitous temporal diplomat, and thorn in The Doctor’s side, Hieronyma Friend returns, once again taking the appearance of one of the Doctor’s old friends, as she’s voiced by Paul McGann’s TV Movie co-star Daphne Ashbrook.
The Daleks (Nicholas Briggs) are here too, as The Doctor finally meets them in the Uncharted. But in a universe of shifting reality, are they entirely the enemy he is used to?
Doctor Who: Time War – Uncharted: Branches is now available to purchase for just £24.99 (download to own) or £35.99 (download to own + collector’s edition CD box set). Please note: the collector’s edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1,500 copies and will not be re-pressed.
This box set comprises four full-cast audio episodes:

The box set’s guest cast also includes Kate Harbour as Roboman/Tarranah, Akbar Kurtha as Tabir, Susan Penhaligon as Sage/The Keeper, Jane Asher as Mother Susan, Amy Rockson as Cardinal Susan, Olivia Woolhouse as Novice Susan, and Robert Fitch as Creature.
On The Doctor reuniting with his granddaughter, Paul McGann said: “I can remember as a child watching Susan in the first Bill Hartnell stories. The idea that The Doctor had a family was a big deal – that you could travel with your granddad and have adventures. So, it’s a privilege to have her back. The Doctor’s this fugitive figure, who in a sense can’t go home, but nevertheless, there’s a family there – it makes it more poignant.”
But it’s not all happy families – Sonny McGann described where we find The Doctor’s great-grandson: “There’s a lot that’s yet to be spoken between The Doctor and Alex. There’s a sense anytime they’re in each other’s presence that Alex feels that shadow over him. In their recent adventures, that tension has been building more and more and more.”
And, Emma Campbell-Jones described Cassie, the new version of her companion Cass: “Cassie is quite a hardened version of Cass. She’s a ferocious heroine, a swashbuckling pirate queen who slashes first, asks questions later. She’s a touch unreasonable, a touch gung-ho, but her heart’s in the right place.”
