The Editor’s Note from Gary Russell in Short Trips: The Solar System acknowledges the controversy around the “tenth planet”, which was then recently discovered in 2003 and “confirmed as a planet” in July 2005. In September 2004, the International Astronomical Union accepted the name Sedna, but it was not officially recognised when the anthology went to press.
Russell further said the name reverted to 2003 UB313, its original designation. This was, however, a designation for Eris, not Sedna.
While Sedna was accepted as the name for this body, it is not considered the tenth planet of the solar system. It is now seen a possible dwarf planet, but has not been referred to as such in-univer
