Red Jasper was a pirate captain in the 18th century who encountered the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn Smythe. The Doctor hadn’t heard of him. According to Evelyn, Jasper has one or two wooden legs and at least one hook for a hand. His ship was the Adventurer’s Fancy. He was obsessed with getting the treasure from the “Ruby Islands”. He was extremely cruel and sadistic, forcing one member of his crew to eat his own tongue. (Doctor Who and the Pirates)
