He worked against the Countess’ plan to have Napoleon Bonaparte win the Napoleonic Wars. The Players’ most important Rule was to always act through intermediaries in their Games, never directly. When Latour broke that rule by trying to kill Napoleon himself, the Countess shot and killed him. (Players)
