Colin Baker (The Doctor), Nicola Bryant (Peri), Feditiona Bruce (Mrs Helen Smith / Hartmann), Mark Elstob (Oberst Brandt / Reynolds), Glen McCready (Professor Winter), John Schwab (Harry Houdini)
What if you’d committed a truly dreadful crime but couldn’t remember?
The world is at war, and Harry Houdini wants to fight for his adoptive country. He might get the chance, when an old friend crashes his New York show.
The Doctor is on the trail of a Central Powers spy ring, which has somehow acquired unearthly technology. But he is also keeping a dangerous secret…
Finding himself on the run behind enemy lines, the world’s greatest escape artist has to work out who he can trust – and fast.
The Sixth Doctor and Perpugilliam Brown are reunited in three more Doctor Who adventures, coming from Big Finish Productions in July, August and September 2019. Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant reprise their roles from the classic series, continuing their journeys on audio and crossing paths with a familiar foe…
Three brand-new adventures with the classic Doctor Who team of Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant are coming this year. This 80s dream team will be encountering the legendary Doctor Who villains, the Daleks (last seen on television in this year’s Doctor Who new year special, Resolution).
The Daleks (voiced by Nicholas Briggs) make their return in the story Emissary of the Daleks, written by Andrew Smith.
Andrew told us about taking The Doctor into new territory in his fight against the Daleks, “I went for an off-Earth story which has an invasion with the tactics of the Persian Empire. They would conquer an area then put an emissary in place as its ruler. The population would be treated relatively well, on condition that there were no attempts at rebellion. If there were, the Persians would return and be totally merciless in not just quelling the rebellion but taking cruel revenge…
“So I envisaged a world taken over by the Daleks with one of these emissaries in charge. An emissary with the principle objective of ensuring there’s no dissent. Because if there is, the Dalek reprisal will be terrible. And what would The Doctor and Peri do, coming into this setup?”
Three stories, starring the classic 1980’s Doctor-companion duo of the Sixth Doctor and Peri, see them battling enemies old and new, and confronting complex moral issues…
Memories of a Tyrant by Roland Moore, out in July, is a tale of morality, mystery and memory.
Emissary of the Daleks by Andrew Smith, out in August, will see a bloody conflict with The Doctor’s mortal enemies, and one woman’s struggle with what is right and wrong.
The final story is to be announced soon.
The Doctor-companion duo last recorded together in 2014, in a trilogy of adventures, where they also encountered the Daleks, in Masters of Earth.
Reunited with Nicola Bryant in the studio to record these new adventures, Colin Baker commented, “It’s always lovely working together, we know each other so well it’s like putting on a comfortable pair of trousers.” To which Nicola added, “An old pair of slippers!”
