The Dastrons were a violent wolf-like species. A prison ship carrying Dastron war-criminals crashed into Dunstanton Lake a few thousand years before the 20th century. In the 1970s an archelogical expidition led by Freda Mattingly ventured into the prison ship under the lake and accidentally awakened the Dastron prisoners. The Dastrons attempted to escape by using the ship’s hyperdrive, but they put too much strain on the ship causing a leak. When they activated the wet hyperdrive it malfunctioned, utterly destroying them. (Prisoners of the Lake)
