Lost in a universe before the Time War, The Doctor is still struggling to find a way back home… but has only found himself in the middle of another war. A very familiar war, involving his oldest enemies – and their malevolent creator.
However he’s not alone – as there are old friends here too. At least he thinks they’re old friends… but when the stakes are as high as this, can he really be sure who to trust? What side are they truly on?
3.1 The First Son by Lizzie Hopley
The Doctor’s attempts to return home have led him to the middle of a war zone… and a familiar voice.
The travellers have arrived on a planet made up of crashed space-ships where they encounter River Song… Or do they? Because she’s dressed as a Movellan and claims to be a member of that robot race. Is she undercover, a duplicate, or something more sinister?
And more importantly… who is her son?
3.2 The Dalek Defence by Matt Fitton
The Doctor and Anya are trapped between battling Dalek and Movellan forces and only the intervention of Earth can get them out of trouble.
But the humans have troubles too – and a very familiar prisoner. Davros.
Stuck in a universe before the Time War, The Doctor is bound by the rules of his own past… Can he keep everyone alive without changing history? And would he even want to?
3.3 The Triumph of Davros by Matt Fitton
Returning to a familiar planet, with Movellan and Dalek warships floating in the sky above, the stakes for the time-travellers are higher than ever.
The mistakes of the Doctor’s past are coming back to haunt him. Alliances are made and broken. And the course of the war is about to turn.
The Doctor can’t stop what’s coming. But maybe, just maybe… he may be able to save his friends.
This boxset release contains all three stories, plus additional behind the scenes interviews.

In April next year, David Tennant will return as the Tenth Doctor for a monumental new full-cast Doctor Who audio drama series from Big Finish Productions, in association with BBC Studios.
David Tennant enters the Dalek Universe
Dalek Universe comprises nine hour-long episodes which will see The Doctor pulled out of time and sent back to the era before the last great Time War. Here he finds himself battling for survival in a universe full of Daleks, Mechonoids, Movellans… and Davros!
David Tennant said: “It’s a big old epic sweep. It reminds me a little bit of those Flash Gordon serials that used to be on the TV during the school holidays when I was a kid.
“Each story has its own self-contained world, but the whole thing has an over-arching momentum. I’ve really enjoyed how varied it is, all within this one story, and the variety of worlds that we go to and environments that we’re in.
“And, as we go through this space opera, to have all these characters brought so clearly to life by a whole range of wonderful actors, it’s been a treat.”
Big Finish Senior Producer, David Richardson said: “What is Dalek Universe? Well it is the first full season of Doctor Who adventures starring David Tennant as The Doctor in over ten years. It is also a huge celebration of the work and imagination of Terry Nation.
“This time The Doctor has no TARDIS for sanctuary and no Rose or Martha or Donna to help… but he is reunited with two faces from the distant past, two serving agents from the Space Security Service. Anya Kingdom (Jane Slavin) betrayed The Doctor in his fourth incarnation – can she make amends? Mark Seven (Joe Sims) is an artificial man with a mysterious history. Together the trio join forces to try and discover who has pulled The Doctor back in time. And more importantly – how can they help him get back home?”
The series will be preceded by a special prologue: The Dalek Protocol, a four-part Doctor Who adventure set on the planet Exxilon, starring Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor, and also featuring Leela (Louise Jameson) and K-9 (John Leeson).
Each of the three volumes in Dalek Universe will be released as a four-disc collector’s edition box set or download containing three brand-new full cast audio adventures, plus a selection of behind-the-scenes extras.
