Connie was blamed for killing her husband after he died mysteriously one Christmas. She later allowed the Eighth Doctor to become her lodger. The Doctor discovered an alien] was using Connie as a scapegoat for its killings. He killed the alien, allowing Connie to live her life without feeling somehow responsible for her husband’s death.
